A new Syracuse University scholarship named after the Exonerated Five’s Kevin Richardson will support the education of Black and Latinx students.

Wise, along with Antron McCray, Yusef Salaam, Raymond Santana, and Kevin Richardson, were arrested in 1989 and later convicted in the brutal rape of Central Park jogger Trisha Meili.

At this point, it’s been well-publicized that Donald Trump once took out a full-page ad in four NYC newspapers calling for the death penalty for the 5 guys who were charged and convicted of raping a woman in Central Park.

The two-time Oscar nominee will write and direct the mini-series that is based on the 1989 rape case that landed five innocent teens in prison.
