Campbell posted a new selfie over the weekend with her hairstylist Jayon Glen, marking her first social media post in months. The photo quickly gained traction, with supporters flooding her comments with love and encouragement. “Damn she bounced back to the ’90s. Best wishes,” one fan wrote, capturing the general sentiment from longtime followers who’ve rooted for her over the years.

Though her career started off strong, Campbell faced serious challenges behind the scenes. She’s been open about her battle with bipolar disorder and addiction, which led to several public incidents and time away from the spotlight. Many remember her emotional appearance on Iyanla, Fix My Life in 2012, where she and her daughter tried to mend their strained relationship.

Now, Maia seems ready for a fresh start—not just personally, but professionally too. In a follow-up video posted on Monday, she shared a heartfelt message calling on none other than Tyler Perry to help her revive her career and honor her mother’s legacy. She’s asking Perry to produce a film adaptation of 72 Hour Hold, a mental health-centered novel written by her late mother, Bebe Moore Campbell.

“Everybody keeps asking me what I want to do with my career,” Maia said in the video. “Honestly, I really want to get in touch with Tyler Perry and have him produce my mother’s book, 72 Hour Hold.”

No word yet from Tyler Perry, but fans are hoping he answers the call. For Maia, this could mark the next chapter in both healing and reclaiming her story.
