Lacy’s close friend, Rontrell Sandolph, honored him on Instagram with an emotional tribute. “I’m speechless,” Sandolph wrote. “All the talks, all the tears, everything, you know GOD had us… Our dreams [were] coming to reality.”

Lacy’s death comes just before a grand jury was scheduled to review a case connected to a fatal car crash from December 2023. The crash resulted in the death of 44-year-old Marine veteran Herman Hall. Lacy was accused of causing the crash and then leaving the scene without offering help or calling for assistance.

He turned himself in to Louisiana State Police in January and was charged with negligent homicide, felony hit-and-run, and reckless vehicle operation. He was later released on bail. At the time, his agent, Rocky Arceneaux, said Lacy was “fully cooperating” with authorities and emphasized that they believed the full investigation would bring clarity to the situation.
