Tina Knowles is speaking out after Kanye West launched an unprovoked attack on her grandchildren, Rumi and Sir Carter. The 71-year-old took to Instagram on Wednesday to address the situation with grace, sharing a video of herself telling a joke while delivering a powerful message.

“It’s hard to remain positive and classy in the face of ignorance and evil,” Knowles wrote. “But I know that no weapon formed against me or my family shall prosper.” She added, “This battle is not mine, but the Lord’s. I know that God has got this.”

Her response came after West, 47, made shocking comments about Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s 7-year-old twins on X. The rapper initially deleted his post but later re-uploaded it, explaining that the only reason he took it down was to avoid having his account suspended—not because he regretted his words.

“I need everyone to know that I took the post about Jay Z and Beyoncé’s family down … because there was a possibility of my Twitter being canceled [sic],” he admitted.

Despite his justification, West later claimed he felt remorse. “I LOVE JAY Z AND I DO FEEL BAD,” he wrote, adding that he had always felt like “the black sheep” in the music industry and longed for a sense of family.

The tension between West and the Carters has been brewing for years. West has repeatedly voiced frustration over Jay-Z and Beyoncé not attending his 2014 wedding to Kim Kardashian. In his latest rant, he also criticized the couple for not using their influence to support him amid his public struggles, including his custody battle with Kardashian over their four children: North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm.

He also expressed anger over Jay-Z selecting Kendrick Lamar to headline the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show instead of him. “S–T HURTS SO F–K BOTH OF THEM CAUSE WHEN I NEEDED THEM IT WAS F–K ME,” West wrote.

West and Jay-Z were once close collaborators, even releasing their joint album Watch the Throne in 2011, but their relationship soured in 2016 after West publicly called out Jay-Z for not reaching out after Kardashian’s Paris robbery.

In recent days, West has also stirred controversy by making explosive claims about Cassie and her legal battle with Diddy, as well as threatening a legal fight with Kardashian over the use of their daughter North’s vocals in his music.
