Trump expressed his admiration for Musk, stating that the Tesla founder is “putting it on the line” to help America, calling his efforts “fantastic.” He condemned the efforts of the “Radical Left Lunatics,” claiming that their coordinated boycott against Tesla is an attempt to harm Musk and his company. According to Trump, this boycott was illegal and aimed at attacking Musk for his work in supporting American interests. “I’m going to buy a brand new Tesla tomorrow morning as a show of confidence and support for Elon Musk,” Trump declared, emphasizing that Musk should not be punished for his contributions to the country.

Musk, who has frequently used social media to communicate with his supporters, quickly responded on X (formerly Twitter) by thanking Trump for his show of support. While Trump did not specify which Tesla model he intended to purchase, his post indicated a firm commitment to standing behind Musk during a challenging time for the electric vehicle company.
Tesla, under Musk’s leadership, has faced significant financial difficulties. On March 10, the company saw its stock drop by 15.4%, marking its largest single-day percentage decline since 2020. Over the past month, Tesla’s stock has fallen by more than 36%, a sharp contrast to its peak market capitalization of $1.5 trillion in December 2021. The stock is now valued at $696 billion. Despite the losses, Musk remains optimistic about the long-term prospects of Tesla, reassuring his followers on social media that “it will be fine long-term.”

Protests against Tesla have become more widespread, with demonstrations occurring at showrooms and charging stations across the United States, particularly in Colorado and Massachusetts. There has also been an increase in vandalism targeting Tesla’s Cybertrucks, adding to the challenges facing the company.
Musk’s appointment by Trump in November to lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) task force has also sparked attention. Working out of the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, Musk has been tasked with leading efforts to reduce government inefficiencies, further intertwining his political and business roles. Despite the challenges, Trump’s public endorsement sends a strong message of support to Musk, one of the most prominent figures in American industry today.
