Governor Wes Moore just landed a big new role as President Donald Trump appointed him to a bipartisan group of governors working on state and federal cooperation.

The Council of Governors is a select team of ten governors (five from each party) who serve two-year terms, according to the National Governors Association. Their job? To help guide key national issues like disaster response, military family support, cybersecurity, and federal budget decisions.

A spokesperson for Moore said he’s excited to take on this new responsibility, hoping to strengthen the partnership between states and the federal government while advocating for service members and their families, our Media Partners at The Baltimore Banner reports.

The Trump administration made the announcement on Wednesday, placing Moore alongside some pretty well-known names in politics—many of whom have been rumored as potential presidential candidates down the road.

Here’s the full lineup:

  • Glenn Youngkin (R, Virginia) – Co-chair
  • Josh Stein (D, North Carolina) – Co-chair
  • Ron DeSantis (R, Florida)
  • Brian Kemp (R, Georgia)
  • Jeff Landry (R, Louisiana)
  • Wes Moore (D, Maryland)
  • Gretchen Whitmer (D, Michigan)
  • Kathy Hochul (D, New York)
  • Josh Shapiro (D, Pennsylvania)
  • Henry McMaster (R, South Carolina)

Moore is set to attend the National Governors Association winter meeting in Washington, D.C., which kicks off tomorrow.
