Brown opened up about the struggles these brands face, including limited retail opportunities and the financial strain of unsold inventory. She urged her followers to avoid knee-jerk reactions, warning that unplanned boycotts could inadvertently harm the same businesses the community is trying to uplift. Instead, she encouraged intentional support for Black-owned products within major retailers, emphasizing how crucial it is to preserve their presence and momentum. “Don’t let them erase us,” she said, calling for unity and resilience during this critical time.

The actress appeared to subtly respond to Target’s announcement with a cryptic Instagram post shortly after the news broke. Some fans immediately encouraged her to end her partnership with the retailer, but Brown addressed this in her video, explaining that the decision to sever ties isn’t as simple as it may seem. She reaffirmed her commitment to her partnership with Target, while also reminding followers that her products are available through other retailers like Walmart and Amazon.
