VA Nurse Arrested For Mysterious Injuries To Newborns In NICU

Virginia nurse Erin Strotman, 26, has been charged with malicious wounding and child abuse after a newborn in Henrico Doctors’ Hospital’s NICU suffered an unexplained fracture in November. Authorities are investigating her connection to additional injuries involving other infants from 2023 and 2024.

The NICU was closed to new patients on Christmas Eve after similar incidents were uncovered. Parents like Dominique Hackey, whose son was injured in 2023, expressed heartbreak over the case.

Henrico Police have reopened previous investigations, and the hospital has increased security and staff training. Further charges may follow as the investigation continues.
