Zoe Saldana recently made national headlines when she revealed that she would consider dating a woman, but why was she so forthcoming about this part of her sexuality? HEADKRACK: All right, ladies and gentlemen, we got the star of the new number one movie of the country, Zoe Saldana!
ZOE SALDANA: Hi everybody.
EBONY STEELE: Welcome to the show.
ZOE SALDANA: Good to be here, thank you. Thank you for having me.

HEADKRACK: Well, yo, you guys managed to catch lightening in a bottle twice. The first movie was amazing, the second one was even better, and y’all killed it in the box office this weekend.
ZOE SALDANA: Yes, we did, I’m so humbled and happy.
HEADKRACK: Now, somebody like yourself, who is in as great in shape as you are, right? It seems like I’ve never seen you not fit. Like are there things that you’d be wanting to eat? Just like as like a binge food eater? Or like are you just like committed to the whole lifestyle of probably eating like salad and breathing air?
ZOE SALDANA: No, no. I’m Latin. Are you kidding me? If I can’t have rice and beans every three or four days I start to get depressed. I do have a huge weakness for Chinese food.
EBONY STEELE: Now, let me ask you this, what movie have you done, because, you know, to even allude to what __ just said, have you done that has been the most physically grueling, because we were watching Columbiana when you were doing a lot of those scenes, clearly your body had to be agile. And then I even think about Drumline when you played one of the dance girls in the band. Which one do you think physically – oh, and the other, was it center stage when you were the balance dancer in school?
ZOE SALDANA: You know, I’ve played roles that have been physically demanding, and I like it because I’m challenged and I get to learn something new. So far the film that most challenged me was Avatar.

HEADKRACK: All right, we’re on live right now with Zoe Saldana, star of the brand new movie, Star Trek – Into Darkness. What you got, Gary?
GARY WIT DA TEA: Now, Zoe, I read something where recently it’s all over the media that you said that you may just one day give up on men and just decide to date beautiful, lovely women. Now, how accurate is that statement?
ZOE SALDANA: Well, it was a statement to empower people to be themselves and to make decisions and not seek for acceptance from anybody, or any other entity, but their own. As of now I’ve been attracted to men, but if one day throughout my life I wake up and I’m attracted to a women I will go in that direction if I wish to do so.
GARY WIT DA TEA: That’s good honey. Do you.
HEADKRACK: Do you realize how many men you sent to support groups over the last couple of days over that statement? Like there was men, there was people getting ready to jump off the roofs of buildings when they read that.
ZOE SALDANA: (Laugh)
EBONY STEELE: And who the heck breaks up with Bradley Cooper. That’s what I was asking.
ROCK-T: This is a good segue. Now, here’s the question. Is Zoe Saldana single right now?
ZOE SALDANA: Oh, my God! You guys!
EBONY STEELE: Don’t you even act that way, girl.
ROCK-T: Talk to us.
EBONY STEELE: You know, we want to know about the movie, but we know you want to know about you, you’re so intriguing.
ROCK-T: We the Homies.
ZOE SALDANA: Oi, oi, oi. I mean wasn’t taking off my clothes in a magazine enough? (Laugh)
GARY WIT DA TEA: For me it was.

HEADKRACK: The thirst is real out here, we apologize. But, yo, I mean, we cannot wait to see what you do next. I mean we was looking at your upcoming movie list and just even like, I got a chance to see a sneak preview to see Star Trek – Into Darkness and it was so good that I went to see it again over the course of the weekend. But do you see yourself jumping aboard for a third movie?
ZOE SALDANA: I mean if I get to come back again and work for people that I love and I respect, I would have to be a fool to say no.
HEADKRACK: Okay. Ensemble cast. You’ve got Chris Pine, Jonathon Cho from Harold & Kumar. You also got Simon Peg. Out of all the people on the cast who do you see yourself like really hanging out with?
ZOE SALDANA: I’ve known Zack the longest. I’ve known Zack for almost 14 years. But kind of whoever’s available and whoever can hang out, that’s kind of how we roll.
HEADKRACK: Okay, now listen; I got a first date scenario. Would you rather a guy take you to a traditional restaurant situation where y’all can get chatty first, then go see a movie? Or would you like to do something adventurous, like a theme park on a first date. I’m trying to help the fellas out, out there.
ZOE SALDANA: No, I’d rather go to the movies first and then when we come out if I’m still hungry after all the popcorn then we’ll just grab a bite.
HEADKRACK: So like, solo dolo, do you eat like a whole bucket …
EBONY STEELE: Are you trying to ask her out? My goodness, man!
HEADKRACK: I’m just trying to figure this out so I know how much money to bring if I ever meet Zoe Saldana at the AMC Movie Theater.
ZOE SALDANA: (Laugh)
EBONY STEELE: (Laugh)
HEADKRACK: So would you sit there and eat a whole bucket of popcorn yourself? Or are you like a small bucket of popcorn kind of girl. Because I just need to know how much money I need to have in my account.

ZOE SALDANA: I don’t know, man. If I like something, there’s something about a small thing. Like I’d rather have – and I know, I know it sounds bad – but I’d rather have popcorn left in a big bucket than wanting more popcorn from a small bucket.
EBONY STEELE: I’m trying to tell you girl, the big bucket is all, go for the big, don’t ever regret it by getting a small. (Laugh)
ZOE SALDANA: It’s always about everything big.
EBONY STEELE: Thank you, ma’am.
HEADKRACK: Do you prefer Twizzler’s or Red Vine’s?
EBONY STEELE: (Laugh)
ZOE SALDANA: I don’t like Twizzler’s.
HEADKRACK: What? Who doesn’t like Twizzler’s? They make your mouth happy.
ZOE SALDANA: I like Rasinettes.
HEADKRACK: Me too!
ROCK-T: Does Zoe Saldana have a fetish? Like is there a weird fetish that you may have that nobody knows about?
ZOE SALDANA: I’ll tell you what I don’t like, I don’t like sweaty hands.
EBONY STEELE: Yeah.
ZOE SALDANA: And I don’t like girls, I don’t like girls that like give you a wimpy handshake. It’s like shake it; you know what I’m saying? Let me feel your hand. Usually girls like, you know, they’re just like, yeah, hey. It’s like, don’t bend your wrist. Shake it like a man. People that give me like a little wimpy handshake; we’re starting off on the wrong foot.
HEADKRACK: Have you ever shaken Michelle Rodriguez’s hand?
ZOE SALDANA: Michelle? Michelle’s awesome.
HEADKRACK: I bet she is.
ZOE SALDANA: She’ll shake your hand and she’ll look at you dead in the eyes. I like that.
HEADKRACK: And when she looks at you dead in the eyes, what do those eyes say?
ZOE SALDANA: Don’t F with me. (Laughter)
